verify a user account exists on a Solaris system

To verify the existence of a Solaris user account, login into the system, run the id command with the username as the argument. For example, to confirm that the username "soluser" exists, run for the following command:

$ id soluser
uid=90(soluser) gid=90(soluser)

If the user does not exist, it will report invalid user name:

$ id soluser
id: invalid user name: "soluser"
