ORA-15110: no diskgroups mounted

Solution:

In Automatic Storage Management there can be two reasons for this

a. New Instance creation: If you are creating new instance and starting it and receive this message you can ignore this because
at this time you don't have any diskgroup mounted on this instance which is correct.

b. Diskgroup not Mounted: If this is a working instance and then you are getting this message it means your diskgroup are dismounted and you
need to mount it again. Use below command to check status of diskgroup and mount it.

Check Disk group status:

SQL> select name,state,type from v$asm_diskgroup;

NAME                           STATE       TYPE
------------------------------ ----------- ------
DATA                           DISMOUNTED
FRA                             DISMOUNTED

Here are two diskgroups DATA & FRA which are in "DISMOUNTED" state.

Mount the diskgroups:

SQL> alter diskgroup data mount;

Diskgroup altered.

SQL> alter diskgroup fra mount;

Diskgroup altered.

Check Disk group status again:

SQL> select name,state,type from v$asm_diskgroup;

NAME                           STATE       TYPE
------------------------------ ----------- ------
DATA                           MOUNTED     EXTERN
FRA                            MOUNTED     EXTERN

Now diskgroups are mounted and accessible.
