ORA-2082: a loop-back database link must have a connection qualifier

ORA-2082: a loop-back database link must have a connection qualifier

Description:

You are trying to create a database link to the same database name.
During the creation of the dblink you receive the following error:

  ORA-2082: a loop-back database link must have a connection qualifier

The dblink loops back to the same database in which it is created, so
you will need a connection qualifier in order to distinguish the origin
from the target in the loopback dblink.

Solution:

#1: SQL> create public database link ora.us.oracle@loopback
             connect to username identified by password using 'ora10g.oracle';

             To test this dblink:
             SQL> select * from dual@ora.us.oracle@loopback;

#2: SQL> alter session set GLOBAL_NAMES=false;

Using Solution #2, you can name the dblink a different name other than the value
in the GLOBAL_NAME table.  The database won't know it's a loopback and the dblink
should function normally.

Explanation:

DBlink loopbacks require a connection qualifier or unique name that is
different from the value specified in the GLOBAL_NAME table.

" This mid-video dialogue is really interesting that we haven't seen such cute dialogue in music video for a long time. t hurt if you learn about third party companies first before you finally consider to buy You - Tube views from them. This network will soon be chock full of independent and original productions that are maintained only on the web.
